Kuni is an L.A. based artist/story boarder/director/ supervising director/producer. She started in the business in Tokyo, Japan. when she was a 16-year-old high school student, working part time for an animation studio. She wound up as an in-betweener, a key animator, then animation director on series, working on Lupin the 3rd, Cat’s Eye, and various features including the well-known Akira. While still in Japan, Kuni worked on various Disney Afternoon series as a key animator for Wuzzles, DuckTales, Adventures of the Gummi Bears, and Rescue Rangers. In 1989, she moved to Los Angeles. Since then, Kuni has worked for Disney, Warner Bros., Dreamworks, Nickelodeon, Crunchyroll, and many other studios. Some of the shows that she’s worked on are: Goof Troop, Bonkers, Quack Pack, Aladdin, Animaniacs, Static Shock, DC Super Hero Girls, Spider-Man: The Animated Series, X-Men Evolution, Invasion America, Dora the Explorer, Go Diego Go, Stillwater… and yes, many more. She’s currently working as a Supervising Director on Disney Jr.’s Ariel (based on the latest Little Mermaid movie).
